This original design is hand-painted on 18 mesh mono canvas with acrylic paint. The painted part of the canvas measures 14″ x 12″.
The design was inspired by the legend of the phoenix. All phoenixes symbolize death and rebirth, with their life-cycle of bursting into flames at death and resurrecting themselves through the ashes and flames. This depiction shows a red phoenix with berry-colored wings as it rises out of the flames that have brought it back to life. The background fades from a deep teal to a soft green.
